  • Trump - fail!!

If Trump is going to expend all his political capital before making any significant movement on tax reform and repatriation of foreign capital his entire term will be a failure. To make it dependent on repeal and replace is a sad mistake.

ALL of Trump's programs are dependent on significant GDP growth and without that growth - the house of cards falls.

I cannot remember another POTUS ever moving as swiftly on his campaign promises as Trump

Agreed, but which ones?? Executive Orders are low hanging fruit and I'm sure the next POTUS will do more even faster until the Supreme Court better defines the boundaries for Executive Orders. Trump's entire agenda is predicated on rapid economic growth, stump speeches can only get you so far. Policy has to back it up. If he cannot deliver on economic policy change, the whole thing collapses on itself.

Wall street will only fool itself so long. Once the retail investor comes into the market, the market will be poised for a decline.

Trump is burning capital on healthcare, immigration and cyber security, the cookie jar will be empty by the time he tries to make real changes.

What has Trump really done to help America? I would say nothing. We have removed ourselves from the TPP table leaving China to be in charge of Pacific Trade. Trump has cut the size of the State Department globally reducing our eyes and ears around the globe as we begin to insulate ourselves from diplomatic circles.

Trump has fought with leaders from China, Mexico, Canada, Australia and accused the UK of spying on him.

No real jobs are being created, just headlines that companies are glad to throw at Trump to get his attention and get special favors. Trump continues to focus on manufacturing which is only 8% of our employment. His health care policy is only going to make it harder to expand our biggest economic driver the private service sector which is 71% of our employment.

His budget does NOTHING to decrease the debt, another DAY ONE promise gone along with the wall and repeal Obama care "DAY ONE!" Who knew health care would be so complicated...LOL In fact with the tax cuts the deficit will be higher in Trump's first two years than Obama's last 3 years.

He has the intelligence agencies wasting their time on wiretapping that never happened. He is kicking out the people with the most years of government experience while he has no clue how to make a policy as simple as blocking visas from a few countries without jamming up airports all over the world. And his budget guy is saying feeding poor kids is a waste of money.

Trump is charging America a fortune to stay at his own Mar-a-lago property when he is given the White House. His wife live in New York, feeding more taxpayer dollars into Trump Tower. And both locations have an army of security people while intruders walk the white house grounds.

I don't see where Trump is doing anything that helps America, he is putting a lot of money into his pocket though.

Agreed, but recent wall street euphoria is based on business policy changes. Trump has attached that to completion of healthcare reform. Healthcare is a bloody, 18 month-3 year fight - in the end probably signifying little with a 3-5 year implementation plan. THEN you're going to do tax reform. No way.

He has more bipartisan support for tax reform and repatriation. He could hang those skins on the wall, then take on healthcare reform.

Not going to read all that dribble but what he is doing is what he campaigned on and promised to do

It took Obama with a super majority in congress over a year to pass the ACA...which liberals already had written and sitting in waiting.

Trumps intentions are to repeal the ACA...implement the replacement...and complete tax reform within 7 months of taking office. Pretty damn good

he has been in office 60 days and you are already calling it a fail ?

Wall street is happy, sure. If Trump can get corporate taxes cut by 50% that means more profits and more dividends for the Wall Street masters of the universe. That does not mean anyone will hire employees. The last thing a company does is to hire people and that has more to do with an increase in sales than tax cuts.

Cheaper health insurance means less coverage, end of story. No restrictions on health insurance administrative costs, means bigger salaries.
The cost of medical care is not decreasing. So the only way that the cost of health insurance can decrease is with less coverage requirements and more out of pocket. That means free hospital care for the uninsured, which will be paid for in increased premiums and co-pays. Same as the mess we had before.

Mac, I disagree with you. The entire WORLD is racing to 0% corporate taxes. It will take a few decades, but rest assured - going to 0%. This round of corporate tax reform will bring us back in line with the Euro zone for corporate taxes. We do not want to disadvantage or discourage businesses from locating and operating in the US.

Businesses = JOBS and jobs are going to be as scarce as diamonds in a global economy that has more people than things for them to do.

Repatriation eliminates a double taxation - You should not be penalized for making after tax profits overseas.

Hitching tax reform to after healthcare reform is a BAAaaaad idea. Frankly the GOP has had plenty of time to come up with a plan, shame on them for not being ready day 1. Beside I have detailed in other threads that insurance reform will NOT bring down the cost of healthcare.

Trump won on JOBS and the economy - get that done first instead of getting bogged down in the quagmire of healthcare reform. Besides healthcare reform is easier with higher GDP growth.

I dont see either of those happening in 7 months and at this point, I dont see health care getting any better at all for anyone.
That said, he is POTUS and i wish him success

Lets be honest Mac, if Trump cured cancer today, you'd poo-poo and down play it, the very same way the right would have (as I said then) done the same to Obama had he cured it.
