  • New York Bann on big size sugar drinks

Seriously!!!! Do they not realize that this will not solve the problem.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/47628473...ew_york_times/

Just because you give me a smaller cup does not mean I will not drink just as much. It just means I have to get more refills.

Yes -- but you will burn calories when you get up for that refill!

mainly only fast food restaurants have self serve fountain soda dispensers in NYC and not all of them have those. Unlike here when you sit down in a restaurant order a coke and ask for another you are charged for every drink you asked for. Order 10 cokes that's 10 charges at whatever per drink. That is how it was when i lived there for 25 years. here they just refill the glass as many times as you would like for one price. That will deter some folks but not all of them.

I always refer to this clip http://youtu.be/puM1eT15NYw with posts like these. The world IS coming to THIS. Wait and see!

It is already happening sort of! LOL.

Wait till Taco Bell survives the Franchise Wars...and then ALL restaurants are Taco Bells!!!

This is the biggest over reach of gov't legislation I think I have ever heard of.

Surely somebody with some money and commen sense will file a law suit to block this freeedom grab.

Prosper, closed to new residents. Thanks.

Next, they'll start ticketing people that have Big Gulp size cups with sodas in them. This is stupid.

I think those Whataburger 960 oz drinks should be banned... that's just ridiculous. I could understand a ban on anything over maybe 32oz? Is it the governments job to say what we can drink... not really. Would I be glad to see some steps taken in the direction of a healthier nation, yes.

The ban is on any fountain or packaged drink above 16 oz. served in any facility that is regulated by the city's health department. So restaurants, movie theaters, bodegas and the like.

So, if you want to order a large New York-style pizza for delivery from your favorite neighborhood pizzeria, you can pile as much cheese, pepperoni and sausage on it as you want ... but you can't order a 2 liter to go with the whole pie. Gotta be individual cans, which are costlier to the consumer.

Oh, and did anyone notice that Bloomberg is issuing an official proclamation tomorrow in honor of National Donut Day?

America is getting fatter and some states more than others. A lot of folks in town are walking around with muffin tops and you all know it's the truth. We eat too much and we have way too many unhealthy dining options in town. That being said, the NY ban is insanely over the top. I wonder though - how many who are poking fun at NY's Mayor are the same folks who rallied for liquor sales ban and applauded Frisco's effort to block alcohol sales. Just sayin.. Go eat a burger and chew on that.

I don't think I could carry around a Coke weighing that much with my bad elbow.

If you tell me that I am not allowed to, I will out of protest.

This is silly. Those that want more will just buy another one. Maybe there should a cut off too.
