Juried Artists Selected for Frisco Arts Festival
Local artists set to appear at October 16-18 festival at Newman Village in Frisco
Frisco, Texas (August 18, 2009) – Frisco Arts (formerly known as Frisco Association for the Arts), Frisco’s non-profit champion for the arts, has created the Frisco Arts Festival presented by Newman Village. The festival is planned as a three day, weekend celebration featuring more than 200 visual artists from around the country along with the unique visual, musical, performing and culinary art talent of Collin County.
Friday, October 16, through Sunday, October 18, festival-goers will experience a variety of artists and art forms ranging from oil on canvas to live music and gastronomical delights. A main stage will include regional favorites and a community stage will feature schools and local talent.
Held at the new art-centric Newman Village in Frisco, just off the North Dallas Tollway at the North East corner of Legacy Drive and Eldorado Parkway, the Frisco Arts Festival is designed for the entire region to be enriched and entertained by the arts community. Guests will stroll through shaded streets enjoying food from local restaurants, live music from local and popular bands and shop the artists on display by more than 200 artists.
The inaugural Frisco Arts Festival is will be the organization’s main fundraiser replacing the annual black-tie gala held 2000–2008. The festival is a fun way to engage the community at-large and expand exposure for the art scene in Collin County. “The Frisco Arts Festival is an exceptional way to reach all of North Texas and showcase Frisco Art’s beneficiary organizations. These talented local groups will have the opportunity to perform and display their work with the hopes of gaining new audiences, donors and volunteers,” said Frisco Arts, Board of Directors President, Larry Hansard.
Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and children 18 and under are free. Open to the public. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.friscoarts.org, at the Frisco Arts office, 6827 Main Street Frisco, Texas and onsite the days of the event. ATM and concessions available on-site.
