DALLAS, Texas July 9, 2009 -- Two Frisco stores were awarded top status this month as ShopAcrossTexas.com released its annual Best Store List. The full list will be revealed to the public on August 1 via ShopAcrossTexas.com. For now, we know that IKEA and Sam Moon made the all-star lineup.

"We were surprised to find our followers voted almost exclusively this year for independent retailers," said JoAnn Dealey, founder of the Shop Across Texas project. "People shared their personal Texas treasures with us and we're sharing them with you."
The Top Retailer results range from Homestead in Fredericksburg to Neiman Marcus (specifically the NorthPark location). "The List" also includes the Wisteria Outlet, in Carrollton (the only one in the world) and Clint Orms, global western belt buckle designer to America's Presidents and heads of state. You'll find Clint in Ingram, Texas.
Only one antique store made its way to the finish line this year, Uncommon Objects, in Austin. This South Congress gem is the spot if you're looking for small finds from a time gone by. Galeria San Y Sidro, El Paso, was new to this year's list. They are the Texas/Mexican version of ABC Carpet(NYC). This 3-story warehouse in downtown El Paso is a destination shop for people with imagination.
Trendy stores that feed our followers' shopping addictions include: Chrome in Lubbock, The Violet Hour in San Antonio, LOT 8 (Houston), By George in Austin and V.O.D. in Dallas.
A special award was created this year for Fredericksburg boasting "Best Retail in a Small Town". Ten stores made our recommended list from this town of 11,000. Five of those stores made the "Top 45" giving Fredericksburg more top stores per capita than any other Texas city.
