Star Children’s Charity Distributes More Than $350,000 to Collin County Beneficiaries



Plano, Texas (April 15, 2009) - Star Children's Charity distributed $350,000 to seven Collin County charities during their Beneficiary First Quarter Disbursement Breakfast at Gleneagles Country Club. Since its inception in 2007, Star Children's Charity has committed to being a leading voice of philanthropy in Collin County, dedicated to financially supporting non-profit organizations that benefit the well being of children and their families. A goal of $1.4M was determined based on the needs of the selected beneficiaries and fundraising events include the annual Star Winter Ball, Star Celebrity Sporting Clays Benefit and the Starbright Golf Tournament along with numerous sponsor events at Neiman Marcus, Loft610, co-branded events such as The GLOW Project and others. After an intense grant selection process, the following Collin County children organizations were selected for funding: CITY House, Children's Medical Center Legacy, Boys and Girls Club of Collin County, Plano Children's Medical Clinic, Crossroads Family Services, Samaritan Inn and Presbyterian Hospital of Plano. The first quarter installments were awarded to the beneficiaries in the following increments:

 

CITY House - $125,000

Children's Medical Center Legacy - $87,781

Boys & Girls Club of Collin County - $62,500

Plano Children's Medical Clinic - $31,950

Crossroads Family Services - $25,000

Samaritan Inn - $18,750

Presbyterian Hospital of Plano - $16,783

 

Funds will continue to be disbursed during 2009 to accomplish each grant's objective to serve the children of Collin County.
