A New Beginning and More From Frisco Family Services
A New Beginning
New Beginnings* is making a positive difference in those that FFSC serves. Sharon, a senior citizen was let go from her full-time employer as a leasing agent due to company budget cuts. She was struggling to pay rent and basic necessities, such as food, despite the fact that throughout her life, she had been the one her family had turned to for help. Like many FFSC clients having to seek services for the first time, Sharon found herself in the unique position where she needed to seek help. Sharon sought the help of FFS and received assistance with her rent, and made a few trips to the food pantry for groceries. Meanwhile, she was attending Collin College to obtain her real estate license. During this time, Sharon was also active in FFS's Adult Education and New Beginnings workshops. She attended all four workshops in the New Beginnings series and signed-up to receive additional one-on-one mentoring. Recently, she landed a job as property manager at a new housing development here in Frisco. FFS would like to take this opportunity to not only congratulate Sharon on her gainful employment, but to also thank New Beginnings for all of their hard work and dedication in equipping FFS clients with the life-skills necessary to obtain employment.
If you would like to help those like Sharon, please make a donation today. Any amount will make a difference in the lives of many.
*(HR professionals including Donna Galatas, Jackie Torres, Linda Roy, Kim Hefley, Debbie German, and Paula Foster have come together and partnered with FFSC to offer clients customized guidance on resume and cover letter preparation, application completion, how to research potential employers and jobs, interview techniques, salary negotiation and professional image)
Stayed tuned as we will bring you details on the rescheduled Rockin' the Village in Newman Village featuring Emerald City.
