FRISCO, TX – Frisco police and the Dallas FBI are currently investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at around 11:04 a.m. at Sterling Bank, located at 3333-101 Preston Road. A white male described to be in his early 40s, approximately 200–240 lbs., wearing a Texas A&M ball cap, light brown polo shirt, and sunglasses entered the bank and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The male then left on foot and was later seen getting into a dark-colored SUV.

Frisco detectives are currently investigating the robbery and are asking that anyone with information contact them at 972.292.6200 or the Dallas FBI at 972.559.5000. Detectives believe that the robber may be responsible for other bank robberies in the area and has been given the nickname of the “Cargo Shorts Bandit” because of his clothing at the time of the robberies.

Additional information may be released as the investigation continues. More information on the “Cargo Shorts Bandit” can be found on BanditTracker.com, which is a Texas bank robbery suspect web site.
