(May 15, 2012) As part of TxDOT’s widening project, traffic on Custer Road between Stonebridge Drive and US 380 will be switched so that north and southbound traffic will flow on opposite sides of the median beginning Wednesday, May 16. The traffic switch will begin at 3 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 6:30 a.m. Early morning motorists are urged to use caution in the area and to watch for flaggers.

After the switch, traffic will be flowing on the new southbound lanes so motorists turning onto Custer Road from a side street or a driveway should pay special attention to the new location of stop lines and medians. In addition, the City of McKinney will be activating a new traffic signal at the intersection of Custer Road and Westridge Boulevard. Motorists are urged to use caution at all of the intersections along Custer Road between Stonebridge Drive and US 380 as people become accustomed to the new traffic control patterns.
