Frisco Artists Open Up This Spring
"Getting to Know You" is the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco's Spring Member Show 2010. This exhibit runs at the Frisco Arts Center 6827 Main St. from March 1 until March 27. The VAGF's members have filled the Frisco Arts Center with a beautiful mix of artwork, from traditional to contemporary, with each piece revealing a little about its maker. The Spring Member Show 2010 includes 23 of the VAGF's artists and exhibits 40 original works of art.
The Visual Art Guild's Open Gallery Saturdays began March 6, with the Frisco Arts Center open from noon until 8pm and culminating in the Spring Member Show Opening Reception starting at 6pm. At the Opening Reception, members of the community had the opportunity to meet the artists. The Guild had visitors from all over Collin and Denton Counties, and as far away as Rockwall.
"This is an exciting time the Guild right now. We have so many great artists that are a part of our group, and our membership continues to grow," said VAGF President Misty Oliver Foster.
The VAGF has several exhibits scheduled during the spring season and Open Gallery Saturday provides Frisco with more opportunities to view VAGF exhibits than ever before. For the month of April, the VAGF will host a Juried Photography Show, and May will showcase the Frisco ISD Faculty and Staff Art Exhibit. All of these exhibits are at Frisco Arts, located at 6827 Main Street, in historic downtown Frisco.
VAGF's Open Gallery Saturdays continue throughout the spring with Frisco Arts Center open on the first and third Saturdays of each spring month from noon to 4pm March 20, April 3 and 17, and May 1 and 15. One can satisfy their "spring fever" by spending the afternoon downtown shopping, eating and soaking in the culture.
