Frisco Square Announces Dave Walser and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band at Music in the Square
Frisco Square announces Dave Walser and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band in concert at Music in the Square, a free summer event held on Simpson Plaza, this Friday, July 6, 2012.
If the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, then something like Sgt Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band (SPLBB) makes perfect sense for a guy like Dave Walser whose early musical influences were the Beatles and Bluegrass. Dave, the founding member of Beatlegras, continues the journey with a new band that actually came out of an offer to put something together for a symphony tour. SPLBB is currently working on orchestra arrangements for this Beatles/Bluegrass/Symphony idea and hopes to be on the line up at symphonies across the U.S. for the 2013-14 season. But for now, you can catch them at Frisco Square this Friday night at Music in the Square from 7:30-9:30pm. Along with Dave, the band features an all star line up of Reggie Rueffer on fiddle, Bach Norwood on upright bass, and Gerald Jones on banjo and mandolin. Music in the Square is a free event and will feature a unique line-up of talented musicians every Friday night, from 7:30-9:30pm, in July 2012. Bring friends and family, grab a picnic, some blankets or chairs and enjoy listening to a variety of musicians as the sun sets. Each Friday will feature a different genre of music, from country, rock, bluegrass, and some of the area's best singer/songwriters.
The remaining summer schedule:
July 6 Dave Walser and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band
July 13 Mark Wayne Glasmire
July 20 Mike June and the Wilson Street Refugees
July 27 Jon Dee Graham
