Sci-Tech Discovery Center Hosts Second-Annual Brainiac Bowl
Teams compete in trivia challenge during an evening of mind-stretching fun
Frisco, Texas – February 3, 2010 – Put your thinking caps on for Sci-Tech Discovery Center’s second annual Braniac Bowl. The knowledge-based trivia challenge chaired by Connie Bearden will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. Teams of eight are invited to enjoy an evening of cocktails, tailgate fare and a silent auction while competing in a trivia bowl against other teams for the coveted title of Brainiac Bowl 2010 Champion. All proceeds from the event will benefit Sci-Tech Discovery Center’s education programs in science, math and technology including the upcoming exhibit, Math Midway. For more information on Brainiac Bowl, including team sign-ups, silent auction submissions and sponsorships and Sci-Tech Discovery Center, visit www.mindstretchingfun.org or call (972) 567-7593.
Brainiac Bowl comes just after Sci-Tech Discovery Center’s successful first exhibit, Grossology: The Impolite Science of the Human Body, ended its three-month run on January 3, 2010. Sci-Tech Discovery Center is currently under renovation to become a full-fledged museum that will re-open in October of 2010 with the new exhibit Math Midway. This colorful, carnival-themed exhibition is designed to excite youth about the universal language of math. The exhibit will include interactive components such as the Square-Wheeled Tricycle, Mind-Bending Mirrors, Terrific Tessellations and Hypnotizing Harmonics.
