“Camp Invention” Registration deadline May 28th!
A weeks worth of education disguised as fun!  Register with a friend & save!

Camp Invention is a real adventure in creativity; hands on learning through FUN activities that will stay with children for years to come.  This weeklong program is taught by certified teachers. Two of the teachers also have their gifted and talented certification.  The program employs inquiry-based activities in science, technology, engineering, math, as well as history and the arts that elicit creative thinking to solve real-world challenges.  Children are immersed in imaginative play that both reinforces and supplements school-year learning.  Children rotate through five integrated modules each day that are designed to provide them an opportunity to explore the unknown, tinker with ideas, and satisfy their innate sense of curiosity.  Working together, children learn vital 21st century life skills such as problem solving and teamwork through hands-on activities disguised as fun! This nationally-acclaimed program for local children entering grades one – six.

This year in Frisco, the brand new “Innovate” program features these modules:
•    Power’d™ It’s alive!  In a secret lab, build your own motorized creature and bring it to life while helping a mysterious scientist harness the power of nature.
•    Hatched™ The Hatched virtual online world is disappearing!  Help save the avatars by creating, marketing and selling goods in this extraordinary marketplace.
•    SMArt: Science, Math & Art™: What do soap bubbles, honeycombs and lightning bolts all have in common?  Explore their surprising connections in the pattern kingdom.
•    I Can Invent III™ Take apart broken machines and see what’s inside! Then use it’s gears, guts and gadgets to invent a machine that’s never been seen before!
•    Global Games™  Explore soccer and other sports as they were first played in ancient times. Add your own twist, get out of your seats and get ready to play!

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to invest in the skills that will help your child achieve his or her full potential throughout the school year.

Space is very limited. Register today!  This summer the Camp Invention program will be held 9:00am-3:30pm, June 28th – July 2nd  2010 at Rogers Elementary School in Frisco, and is open to children entering grades one – six.  The registration fee includes a Camp Invention T-shirt.  Register with a friend to receive $25 off the base price of $230.  That’s a week’s worth of education disguised as fun for about $7 per hour!  Note:  the “Friend discount” is only available when you register by phone or “snail mail”, so call 800-968-4332 to reserve spots for your children today!  For more information or to register without benefit of the “friend” discount visit www.campinvention.org or call 800.968.4332.  If your businesses would like to sponsor a child, please contact Frisco Director Debbie Thompson for more information: 469-585-1271.
