Frisco Public Library Offers Free Child Literacy Classes

Opening Doors to Literacy Workshop Series with Dr. James L. Thomas

FRISCO, TEXAS (Jan, 5, 2010) – Registration is now open for Frisco Public Library’s
free workshop series, “Opening Doors to Early Literacy,” with presenter Dr. James
L. Thomas. The series is designed for day care providers, teachers and parents or
anyone interested in developing early literacy skills in children.

Dr. Thomas has more than 30 years experience as a public school librarian,
graduate library school professor and teacher of early literacy awareness. He has
recently returned from Australia where he delivered nine “Opening Doors to Early
Literacy” workshops to child care providers, children’s librarians and parents.

Continuing education credits will be given by the Texas Early Care and
Education Career Development System. Two credits will be awarded for each
workshop. Registration is free and open to the first 60 participants.
