Frisco Dance Force Celebrates Ten Year Anniversary with Signature Performances and Alumni Highlights

To celebrate a decade of teaching dance to young people in Collin County, Frisco Dance Force founders and sisters, Debra Swaim and Elizabeth Sandifer are preparing for memorable season-end performances and highlighting the generations of dancers who have trained with Frisco Dance Force.

A two generation Frisco Dance Force family, Emily and Sarah Bovshow find this performance bitter sweet.  Emily, age 13, has been dancing with Frisco Dance Force for 9 years, six of which were competitive, and this will be her last season since she was selected as the only Freshman Centennial Sweetheart for the upcoming school year.  Her younger sister, Sarah age 9, is continuing in her sister’s dance steps and will continue at Frisco Dance Force.  She began training at age 4.  Even after engaging in gymnastics, theatre and Girl Scouts, dance is these sisters primary passion.  It is ironic they mirror the Frisco Dance Force co-owners, sisters Debra and Liz.

“The instructors and owners at Frisco Dance Force always have the best interest of the students at heart.  My daughters have thrived in the nurturing environment,” shares Betty Bovshow, mother of Emily and Sarah.  “The dance teams have created life-long friends, teamwork, discipline, competition but most important camaraderie and caring for their teammates.  Each dancer is assigned a “sister” either little or big depending on their age, to look after one another through the training process,” continues Bovshow.  “As a Mother, I am so happy the girls have found their passion and literally run to the studio doors at drop off.”

The tradition is continuing at the newest thriving studio, Prosper Dance Force where these dancers will also enjoy a part of the ten year celebration.  Prosper opened in Sept, 2009 and serves students throughout the northern area of Frisco, Prosper, Celina and Little Elm.

This ten year anniversary season culminates with a series of performances on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Centennial High School auditorium.  Dancers ages 3-18 and all disciplines will showcase their talent, teamwork and commitment.  The performances are open to the public and tickets are $ 6.00.

Debra and Liz have called on their alumni to attend the anniversary performance and share their dance stories and how dance has impacted their future which will be shared on the Frisco Dance Force Facebook fan page.

"When you read about some of the amazing ways that dance has become a part of a child’s life, we at Frisco Dance Force and Prosper Dance Force feels privileged to contribute to their development and exposure to the arts,” states Debra Swaim.
