It’s a Great View from the Top

Frisco, TX – The Eagle Gymnastics Girls’ Team competed this past weekend at the Friends of Achievers Invitational in Denton, TX.

Jessica Giacoman kicked the weekend off for Team Eagle finishing 1st on bars and the all around in the level 8 – Junior B division.  She also earned 2nd on beam and 3rd on both vault and floor.  Maritza Mack kept the excitement moving placing 3rd on vault and beam in the level 7 – Junior A division.  Macie McFarland, Emilee Tutt and Alyssa Yates rounded out the level 7 optional team.

On Sunday, the compulsory levels dominated the competition.  The level 3, 4 and Placement 5’s each won the large man team titles.  Matille Drury scored big in the level 5 – Senior A division earning her four 1st place finishes on vault, bars, beam and the all around.  In the Junior B division, Lacey Piekarski led the group finishing 1st on beam and the all around and 2nd on vault and floor.  Abby Eaton was close on her heels placing 1st on bars and floor and 2nd on beam and the all around.  Katelyn Lewellen picked up 1st on vault and tied for 2nd on beam with Eaton.  Liah Bosworth tied for 2nd on floor with Eaton and finished 3rd on bars.  Katherine McBride represented the level 5’s in the Junior A division placing 2nd on vault and 3rd on bars and the all around.

We are proud of the success of our compulsory level athletes throughout their season and are eager to see how the optional team girls thrive during their upcoming competitive season.
