The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2017 Municipal Candidate Forum for February’s Special Election. The forum will be held on January 24, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, hosted by Grace Church, located in Frisco Square at 8440 Grace Street in Frisco, TX. The event is free and open to all guests.

“The Frisco Chamber has for several years hosted a candidate forum believing that our business community has a huge stake in how our local government is led.  We want to make sure that as the Voice of Business, we are at the forefront of developing that relationship between would be leaders and the business community,” said Tony Felker, President and CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce.

Each of the 10 candidates running for Frisco City Council Place 1 have been invited to participate in the Municipal Candidate Forum, which will be moderated by Tony Felker and Shona Huffman.

“Education is key in knowing who should lead your community,” shared Shona Huffman, Director of Governmental Affairs at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. “This is an opportunity for voters to hear from the candidates directly and gain insight on where the candidates stand on issues important to the future of Frisco. Voters should seek to know who truly understands the issues and make their decisions at the polls accordingly.”

The Special Election called by the Frisco City Council will be held on February 18, 2017 and will fill the City Council Place 1 vacancy with a term expiration of May 2018. Early voting for the special election begins February 1, 2017.
