The queen of the beach novel delivers your favorite summer read

FRISCO, TEXAS— Does summer mean comfy clothes, cool drinks, and an indulging read? If you said yes, we have this summer’s first must-read and an opportunity to meet its author.  Join internationally-acclaimed Nancy Thayer at a private reception at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center on Thursday, May 18. Courtesy of the Friends of the Frisco Public Library, Thayer joins us to celebrate her twenty-third novel, Secrets in Summer.

Thayer’s in-depth knowledge and love of her home on Nantucket Island make her novels irresistible. Her latest page-turner follows the summer of island resident Darcy Cotterill. Darcy faces complications of past and present love, intrigue surrounding an elderly neighbor, and challenges of an at-risk teen.

She will speak about her latest title, her writing process, her inspiration, and more, over the course of the event.

“It’s exciting to give our community of readers a chance to connect with authors of Nancy Thayer’s caliber,” says Mayra Diaz, Assistant Director, Public Services. “There is something special about reading a book and knowing you’ve met the person who wrote it.”

The evening will engage, entertain, and educate:

6:15 pm—private reception, ticket required. An intimate opportunity to meet Nancy Thayer while enjoying refreshments with other literary aficionados. The $35 ticket includes an autographed copy of Secrets in Summer. The reception will be in the City Room, 5th floor, City Hall.
