FISD Athletes Compete at State Track Meet

Frisco ISD had seven individual athletes and two relay teams participate in 12 events at the UIL State Track and Field Meet, held May 11-13 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

In the boys’ team standings, Liberty High School led Frisco ISD and placed 10th overall, while Heritage High School was in the top 25. The Liberty girls’ team finished 8th overall and Wakeland High School girls’ team finished in the top 20.

The following FISD athletes competed in the state meet in their respective events (Those who placed on the podium in bold):


  • Sal Guli (Wakeland) – Discus

  • Nick Hendrix (Wakeland) – 3200m & 1600m

  • James Manders (Heritage) – Pole Vault (Silver) 

  • Christian Palmer (Liberty) – 300m Hurdles

  • Isaiah Palmer (Liberty) – 400m (Silver)

  • Liberty 4x400m Relay team – Daniel Lescay, Christian Palmer, Josh Holden, Isaiah Palmer


  • Carrie Fish (Liberty) – 3200m (Bronze) & 1600m

  • Nissi Kabongo (Liberty) – 800m ​(Silver) & High Jump

  • Wakeland 4x200m Relay team – Briana Johnson, Victoria Altieri, Ashlyn Heckman, & Presley Money
