HOSA-Students-Finish-in-Top-10-at-International Conference

Frisco ISD had one first place winner and a handful of top 10 finalists at the HOSA International Leadership Conference held June 21-24 in Orlando.

HOSA is a career and technical student organization dedicated to preparing future leaders in the health and medical field. Its mission is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community.

Nearly 30 FISD high school students qualified to participate in competitive events focused on leadership, professional and technical skills.

Centennial High School student Adil Basha was named the international champion in pathophysiology after taking a knowledge test that challenged competitors to recognize, identify, define, interpret and apply terms related to various human diseases and conditions.

Students from Independence, Liberty and Reedy high schools were named top 10 international finalists.

Bhoomika Venkatesh, medical law and ethics – 8th Place

Reedy High School

Antara Gupta, human growth and development – 8th Place
