Reedy High School Librarian Nancy Jo Lambert has been elected by members of the Texas Association of School Librarians (TASL) to a three-year leadership term, starting in the 2017-18 school year.

She will serve as Chair-Elect, Chair and Past-Chair of the statewide organization, which has more than 4,500 members and is the largest division within the Texas Library Association (TLA).

During her year as Chair, Lambert will be called upon frequently by TLA leaders to serve on committees and provide input on current issues. She will advocate for libraries and school librarians across Texas, plan many TASL programs for the organization’s annual conference and serve as a national representative for Texas librarians.

Lambert has been an educator for 12 years, all in Frisco ISD. She began her career as a seventh grade Integrated Language Arts teacher at Griffin Middle School. Prior to opening Reedy High School as the librarian in 2015, she was the librarian at McSpedden Elementary, Borchardt Elementary and the FISD Early Childhood School. Her bachelor’s degree is from The University of Texas at Arlington, and her master’s degree is from The University of North Texas.
