We’ve reached that time of year again, Frisco, when Daylight Saving Time ends and so does the City’s time-of-day watering restriction. Now is the perfect time to start thinking about saving water while your landscape is dormant.
Due to the cooler weather, the City of Frisco relaxes its time-of-day restrictions in order to minimize the risk of running irrigation systems in the evening when temperatures might dip below freezing.
Because the fall and winter tend to be a bit rainier in North Texas, and plants are dormant, sprinkler systems can be turned off from now until around March of 2018. This also serves as a great opportunity to change the batteries in your sprinkler controller and check on your rain & freeze sensor. If this sensor has stopped working, and your system is left on, your system won’t turn off as intended. Running sprinkler systems during icy weather can create dangerous conditions for pedestrians and drivers alike, constituting a watering violation.
As we transition from the summer into autumn & winter, fall back into water conservation with the WaterWise team! Schedule your FREE sprinkler system checkuptoday by calling 972-292-5800 or by using the myFRISCO app. And thank you Frisco, for staying WaterWise.
