FC Dallas Foundation Announces Inaugural Grant Program Recipients

Foundation awards $10,000 in grants to four DFW organizations

FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas Foundation, the charitable arm of FC Dallas and Toyota Stadium, announced the four winners of the Foundation’s first grant program. Each organization received $2,500 to be used for supplies, programs and other initiatives.

The FC Dallas Foundation Grant Program launched in 2017 to support non-profit organizations with similar missions of promoting healthy, active lifestyles for underserved youth of north Texas. All grant recipients are focused in the areas of nutrition or healthy activity through sports, preferably soccer. All applicants work in the DFW community and help underserved portions of the population.

The FC Dallas Foundation is proud to honor the following organizations:

Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas – with a mission “to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold through life-changing programs and experiences,” Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas empowers girls to become strong, smart women. Their Girls Inc. Mind + Body program focuses on nutrition and physical health and their role in contributing to the physical and mental wellness of young, minority girls.

Refugee Services of Texas – guided by the principles of human compassion and dignity, Refugee Services of Texas welcomes refugees, immigrants and other displaced individuals and offers support by helping them integrate and thrive in their new communities. Through their RYP Soccer Project, clients enjoy weekly practices, clinics and workshops.

6 Stones – 6 Stones aim is to be a catalyst of hope that transforms lives, homes and communities.  Liga HEB is an intramural soccer program run in partnership with the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (HEB ISD) and 6 Stones. This program facilitates relationships between students and their administrators, encourages healthy lifestyles and increases participation for a group of students who were underserved until the league’s inception in 2010. It reaches students who underperform academically and who are not participating in any extracurricular activities through the district, which currently does not offer soccer for Junior High boys.

Jubilee Park & Community Center Corporation –Jubilee Park and Community Center is a catalyst for community renewal and enrichment in the Jubilee Park Neighborhood, a 62-block area in southeast Dallas.  In 2014, the FC Dallas Foundation and the United Arab Emirates built a synthetic turf field for the kids of Jubilee Park.  This grant will be used to support the organization’s Youth Athletics Initiative.  The soccer program plays in the local YMCA league.
