Didi Conn, the actress who played Frenchie in the Grease movie franchise, highlights the Tribute to Grease Night on Friday, April 21 when the Frisco RoughRiders take on the Corpus Christi Hooks at Dr Pepper Ballpark. As part of Tribute to Grease Night, Conn is judging a Frenchie lookalike contest during the game.
Conn joins an exciting list of celebrities scheduled to appear at Dr Pepper Ballpark this season. The lineup includes Bob Eubanks (Retro Game Show Night, Saturday, July 15), Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann in Gilligan’s Island (Tribute to Gilligan’s Island Night, Friday, July 21) and Dennis Haskins, aka Mr. Belding in Saved by the Bell (90’s Nite, Saturday, Aug. 19).
Celebrity theme nights allow fans the opportunity to meet their favorite stars as part of free autograph sessions, along with other promotional activities before and during that night’s game.
In total, the Riders will host more than 30 theme nights in 2017, including Strikeout Cancer Weekend (Friday–Sunday, June 2-4); Bark in the Park Nights (Sunday, April 23; Monday, June 19 and Wednesday, Aug. 30); Take MEOW to the Ballgame (Sunday, May 21); Cinco de Mayo (Friday, May 5, Riders become Los Jinetes and mariachi bands perform); Faith Night with post-game concert (Saturday, July 22); State Fair Night (Friday, Sept. 1); and College Night (Saturday, Sept. 2).
Tickets for these theme nights, Opening Day on April 6, the Texas League All-Star Game on June 27 and all 70 regular-season home games will be available March 3, the same day baseball returns to Dr Pepper Ballpark with the Frisco College Baseball Classic. Tickets for the Frisco Classic (March 3-5), featuring Arizona, Arkansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma State are on sale now. The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and play their games at beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. The team was founded in 2003 and has finished first among all Double-A franchises in attendance in each of the last 12 seasons (2005-2016). In August 2014, the RoughRiders were purchased by an ownership group led by Chuck Greenberg and Scott Sonju.
